The Captain
Captain Filippo Belli spent five years in the Italian Merchant Navy before joining the superyacht industry and working up the ranks to take the helm of numerous high profile vessels. Described by colleagues as a very jovial person always ready to entertain his clients, he has twice led his team to win a sought-after industry award for ‘best charter crew’, recognition for great leadership and his willingness to go to any lengths to ensure the ultimate charter experience for the owner and their guests.
The Experience
Aptly named after her owner’s favourite dry white wine, a charter aboard the award winning Vertige is a truly unique experience. Accommodating up to 12guests in six ultra slick en suite staterooms, the piece de resistance is her full beam master suite located on the main deck, which comes complete with private study, walk-in wardrobe and two fold-down terraces.
Vertige’s stylish interior was created by Margherita Casprini in collaboration with Francesco Paszkowski Design, and is best described as an ocean-inspired contemporary space with floor-to-ceiling windows offering panoramic sea views, rich metal accents and polished rosewood. Elsewhere expect a state-of-the-art gym, a fabulous open-air pool on the sun deck and an exquisite wine cellar showcasing an impressive collection.
Entertainment is where Vertige excels, and her formal dining area seats up to 12 guests. Two staircases leadup to her aft main deck, which is set up as an outdoor lounge and dining area with a wet bar for pre-dinner drinks. Guests also love to gather in the upper deck sky lounge which boasts a cocktail bar and a full entertainment system for after dinner movie nights. Add to that a huge collection of water toys including two jet skis, SeaBobs, stand-up paddleboards, a wakeboard and more, and your day-to-night itinerary is completely covered.
The Cuisine
With an impressive number of onshore chef placements under his belt, Italian-born Chef Gionata ‘Gio’ Rossi knows how to impress his charter guests. Having graduated from the Institute of Hotellerie in Massa, Italy, he went on to work at a number of fabulous restaurants including the five star Miami Beach Ocean Resort Hotel and Mexico’s Quinto Elemento, where he trained and perfected his craft. However, his roots came calling, and Chef Gio returned to his home town to open his very own award winning restaurant, Ilmegliodijo.
Since joining the superyacht industry Chef Gio has worked on some of the most demanding yachts including Ivana and Reborn. Having also worked with Captain Filippo for four years on board MY Magenta M, it was their bond and team spirit that attracted him to join Vertige where he has been cooking up a storm ever since.
An extremely passionate chef, Gio works with ultimate precision, especially when working with personal preferences and food intolerances. A friendly personality who is always up for a chat, he specialises in worldwide cuisine, but is well-renowned for cooking up the best pasta in the business.
