The Captain
With extremely comprehensive knowledge of South East Asia, Captain John Maas heads up the brilliant team. Having cruised extensively throughout the Pacific, Atlantic, Caribbean and Mediterranean, John is highly professional, works well with his crew and has a fabulous sense of humour. Guiding his team to provide an exemplary charter experience every time, he says: “I take pride in overseeing our charters to exacting detail and ensuring we are able to deliver the ultimate client experience each and every time”.

The Cuisine
Creating an array of beautifully presented mouth-watering delicacies for guests to enjoy, Thai chef Suthon Cheamkaew brings over 20 years of experience to Northern Sun, having started out in restaurants and hotels in Thailand and Malaysia before moving on board 14 years ago. Prior to joining Northern Sun he worked on board MY Sapphire, MY Maverick and MY Braveheart.
His extensive knowledge of cooking styles and techniques means he is equally comfortable producing high level, fine dining cuisine as he is with more casual home-style food. Alongside other skills in Chinese, Japanese, Italian and some French cuisine, he's also an advocate of healthy eating and Kosher dishes. Providing guests with delicious gastronomic delights, whilst ensuring the highest attention to every detail is his primary motivation, he thrives on achieving great feedback for every meal.
