Built in 2009 by the well-known Delta Marine shipyard, the 46 metre Avalon is a custom, full displacement motor yacht, compliant with MCA and Lloyd’s Register standards.
Created for adventure with a technologically advanced composite hull and GRP superstructure, she has an impressive volume of 472 gross tons.
Twin Caterpillar 3508B engines, each providing 1,000hp, deliver a top speed of 15.5 knots and cruising speed of 12 knots, plus a trans-Atlantic range of 5,000 nautical miles thanks to her 71,536 litre fuel tanks. Equipped with an ultra-modern stabilisation system and zero speed stabilisers at anchor, roll motion is reduced, resulting in a smoother experience for guests.
Avalon’s sophisticated exterior design, styling and engineering are brainchild of the in-house Delta Design Group, while her stylish interior – the work of Chris Brown Design – builds on the shipyard design studio’s original work.
The Captain
Falling in love with boating at a young age, Captain Jesse Clinton spent his childhood sailing the east coast with his family. It was at the tender age of just 18 that Jesse earned his captain’s license, before spending time crewing aboard sailing yachts and busy charter motor yachts. As the captain on board Avalon, his calm demeanour, enthusiastic personality and natural affinity with the ocean make him a respected leader by his professional crew. A keen watersports enthusiast, he particularly enjoys wakeboarding, surfing and paddleboarding.
The Experience
Offering pristine accommodation for 10/12 guests in five spacious staterooms, with the master suite located on the main deck, get ready for the experience of a lifetime with a charter on board Avalon.
Delivering a textbook combination of classic elegance with state-of-the-art facilities, she offers timeless and relaxed surroundings with a superb layout for her charter guests. Masterfully crafted woodwork throughout creates an ambience of richness and warmth, and panoramic views from the large windows in the main salon are sensational no matter where the yacht is, fully encouraging the outside in.
The panoramic sky lounge on the upper deck is a vast and comfortable space, with large sofas, games table, bar area and flatscreen TV – perfect for family entertainment, cocktail evenings or movie nights whilst on charter.
Deck spaces abound on three levels, offering a wide choice of settings for al fresco dining, sunbathing and relaxation. The aft lounge on the main deck provides a comfortable place for social gatherings outside, while the bridge deck aft features a generous open dining space for 10. A popular spot for daytime fun is the sun deck, equipped with a spa-pool jacuzzi surrounded by sunbeds, stow-away gym equipment and a full wet bar. Avalon is a versatile and popular charter yacht with a highly attentive crew of nine.
The Cuisine
Chef Mark Cervo joined Avalon from an extensive career in the culinary world. Originally from San Jose, California, he spent over 15 years working in the Caribbean, specifically the Virgin Islands. It was here, after working as the Executive Chef in the Ritz Carlton, that he opened three restaurants and a catering business.
Looking for a new challenge, Mark sold all of his ventures and discovered the world of superyachting. Classically French trained at the Four Season's Hotel, he has since had over three decades of experience and is well versed in all cuisines. He brings a wealth of culinary knowledge to Avalon and is excited to share his creativity with guests.
From hors d’oeuvres, to formal dining, to a midnight snack, his gastronomic delights will tantalise even the most discerning taste buds. He takes pleasure in discussing menus well in advance to ensure a snag-free charter that pleases the tastebuds of each and every guest on board.
